At Visionary Leadership Collective Group, we believe that true leadership is about service, humility, and empowering others—a principle exemplified by Moses. Recently, I attended an Awards Gala at the Greenleaf Center for Servant Leadership at Seton Hall, where each awardee answered the question, "What does servant leadership mean to you?" This inspired me to reflect: What does servant leadership mean to me?

Moses’ story offers powerful lessons. When God called Moses at the burning bush (Exodus 3), Moses hesitated, doubting his abilities. He faced personal insecurities, including a speech impediment (Exodus 4:10). However, Moses leaned on Aaron, his brother, showing that leadership involves trusting others and delegating responsibilities. At Visionary Leadership, we emphasize this same approach—helping leaders build strong, collaborative teams.

Moses also displayed faith and perseverance. Whether parting the Red Sea or navigating rebellion, Moses trusted God's direction even when the future seemed uncertain. Modern leaders can learn from Moses’ example: leadership requires remaining grounded in purpose, especially during difficult times.

Moses wasn’t driven by personal ambition. He interceded for the Israelites despite their complaints, leading with a heart of service. This type of leadership is essential today—one focused not on power, but on serving others and building lasting impact.

At Visionary Leadership Collective Group, we guide leaders and organizations in developing these servant leadership principles—humility, empowerment, faith, and perseverance. If you want to explore how servant leadership can transform your organization, we invite you to book a free 15-minute consultation with us today.
